DJ Varan (also known as DJ SEM) is a ukrainian house and techno DJ and producer, from the town of Mariupol, constantly living and working in Latvia since early 2004. During his first two years, he gained massive respect in his new home town of Ventspils - the local nightlife simply loved this young “mastermind of house” and also taking part in dance events, which are common in Ventspils during summer season. From that point on things were looking good for a young promising musicmaker. The next stage of his career was moving to Riga in May 2006, because his mainstream music style changed along with his city of origin - Sem started making more techno music, rather than house. As the artist himself explained: “The demand for this change in style is mostly dictated by the listeners, who have been treated with very much of glamour house and psyhodelic trance music and in the mean time there is not so many techno here, so I cannot let this genre be forgotten here, where good music is treated and welcomed so well…” In 2007, DJ VARAN was hired as a musical director by the Riga outlet of the famous TODES showdance group owned by Alla Duhova. Being an expert in terms of dance, it was easy for him to create 2 significant and noticable tracks for the needs of the group. Also, in the summer of 2007, DJ VARAN is signed by iRecords, a famous Russian trance record label, maintained by DJ Polyakoff, a member of the legendary PPK group. Starting autumn 2007, he is one of the active producers of BadPaQ, a sublabel of iRecords, dealing with trance, techno, house and other genres of EDM. In late 2007 - early 2008, a collaboration of DJ VARAN, DJ LifeSerzh and LTT (Love Trance Team) succeeded in several succesful trance anthems, soon to be heard on dancefloors worldwide and to be released on Banzai Records. Now, DJ VARAN is improving it's sounds and impressions by experimenting with powerful synthesizers and newest producing and mixing software to find the perfect beat and to bring to listeners the blend of synthetic and live music which is to be a even bigger success ...to be continued...
